2026 GODDESS PARADE ROUTES

LES FOUS DU CARNAVAL
01/23/2026
8:oo pm CST - 9:00 pm CST

 Friends, Bards, Wicked Stepmothers, Talking Animals, and Woodsmen Who Have Lost the Plot, Les Fous du Carnaval is back for our FIFTH YEAR as a parade to cordially invite all wayward princesses & knights to step into the storybook with us for our next enchanted chapter: ✨Once Upon A Fou

Gather round, lantern-lit darlings, on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 8pm, as we make a wish on a falling star, skip the light fandango, listen to the miller tell his tale, and bewitch the denizens of this moon-drunk wildwood we call home into collaboratively feral characters in our fractured fable. You may ask yourself, well, how did I get here? The ending may be riddle-ridden and, possibly, negotiable as our walking parade trips through the Marigny and French Quarter, dragging folklore behind it like a torn hem, but we’ll certainly never live quietly ever after! “There must be some way out of here,” said a joker to the thief…

Our charms will guile & delight parade-goers with a pageant of ornate costumes, hand-crafted gifts of talismans, a series of increasingly questionable tableaux, and the forests will echo with laughter as we prowl, haunt, conjure, and scamper off-script to the brass bands New Groove, Kings of Brass, and the Banana Peel Stompers.

We’ll rule our lives like a fine skylark and when the sky is starless, our merry band of troubadours begins our Carnival enchantment and misrule at 8pm at the corner of Frenchmen & Decatur Streets, then unspools along this route:

Frenchmen --> Royal

Royal --> St. Philip

St. Philip --> Decatur

Decatur --> Jackson Square

But let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late.

Les Fous du Carnaval is a creative collaborative of inner krewes including Krewe of Goddesses, Flora & Fauna, The Legendary Order of the Casket Girls, Shimmy Shakti Belly Dance Goddesses, Mystical Krewe of Aziza, Bywater Crazy Cat Ladies & Gents, and our newest inner krewes, Mahogany Blue Baby Dolls & Queerly Beloved — a chosen family of riotous rogues rewriting what devotion, romance, and happily-ever-after can look like when nobody asks permission. There’s a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure ‘cause, you know sometimes words have two meanings… fousducarnaval@gmail.com | lesfousducarnaval.blogspot.com

NEW ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER GAY EASTER PARADE
03/31/2024
4:3o pm CST - 7:00 pm CST

The Gay Easter Parade started in 2000 in New Orleans as a fun way to showcase the fashion and creativity of the entire LGBT community “with ladies in gowns or summer suits with Easter Hats and gentlemen in summer suits or tuxedos.” It’s meant to be a fun cultural event the whole family can attend regardless of whether or not you identify as LGBT.

LES FOUS DU CARNAVAL
01/19/2024
8:oo pm CST - 9:00 pm CST

Friends, Courtesans, Groundlings, and Loose Associates, Les Fous du Carnaval cordially invite one and all to clown around with us at our next commedia dell’arte! On Friday, January 19, 2024, at 8pm, we could be your fantasy! The streets are our stage and we present a veritable visual and auditory feast of mystery, artistry, and ribald fun with our dazzling display of “Big Clown Energy” as our jocular walking parade trips through the Marigny and French Quarter

Our only tricks are to guile & delight parade-goers with an array of droll costumes, hand-crafted tokens of mirth, and myriad tableaux of wonderment and chicanery in our annual jest as we scamp, prance, and gadabout to the brass bands, New Groove and Kings of Brass. We got that REAL big energy!

Exercising our jester’s privilege, we’ll make the gathered throngs sing like a melody. Our Carnival stroll of misrule starts at 8pm at the corner of Frenchman & Decatur Streets, then we'll frolic through the Marigny / Quarter following this route:

Frenchman --> Royal

Royal --> St. Philip

St. Philip --> Decatur

Decatur --> Jackson Square

The fantastical Les Fous du Carnaval is a creative collaborative of inner krewes: Krewe of Goddesses, Flora & Fauna, and Krewe of Hellarious Wingnuts. If you ain’t right, we got the remedy! In our third year parading on this same route, our merry band of bards has expanded to include a new inner krewe, The Legendary Order of the Casket Girls.

Tonight, we do it your way! As always, the only way to find out is to come out! Leave all racism, misogyny, transphobia, or bigotry of any kind at home. And stay as safe from COVID as you can while out on the route~~remember Mardi Gras is for masking! Hope to see all of your beautiful faces there!! xoxo
